As Asia’s largest electronic dance music festival makes its debut in Mumbai (December 19–21, 2025), Sunburn Festival 2025 is set to transform the city into the epicentre of global dance music, championing safety, scale and spectacle. Backed by close collaboration with Mumbai Police, civic authorities and emergency services, the festival will unfold with a robust, multi-layered operational framework designed to deliver a secure, seamless and world-class fan experience.

Ahead of one of the most anticipated year-end live entertainment events, Sunburn Festival 2025 has announced an extensive on-ground safety and operations plan covering crowd safety, emergency preparedness, traffic management, surveillance and fan wellbeing. The scale of coordination reflects Sunburn’s long-standing commitment to international safety and production benchmarks, tailored for Indian audiences.

Karan Singh, CEO, Sunburn, said:

“Delivering live entertainment at scale today requires deep civic coordination, operational discipline and long-term thinking. Sunburn Festival 2025 is the outcome of sustained collaboration with city authorities, law enforcement and emergency services, aligned to a shared objective of public safety and urban readiness. By embedding global best practices across security, sustainability and crowd management, we aim to strengthen India’s evolving live entertainment ecosystem and demonstrate how cities and cultural platforms can work together to host experiences of global relevance and long-term value.”

More than 1,000 trained security personnel will be deployed across the venue, supported by 300+ Mumbai Police officers managing law and order and traffic. An additional 300+ traffic marshals will ensure smooth access, while 100+ medical professionals and 100+ certified fire marshals will remain on standby. Together, these teams form a tightly coordinated safety ecosystem focused on prevention, preparedness and rapid response.

A comprehensive medical preparedness plan has been developed based on audience demographics, weather, event timings and alcohol consumption. Multiple medical tents, ambulances and trained staff will be operational, all coordinated through a Unified Venue Operations Centre. Over 250 CCTV surveillance cameras will monitor the festival grounds in real time.

Women’s safety is central to festival operations. Sunburn Festival 2025 will feature a women’s-only bar, dedicated frisking zones, female doctors, and an all-women Quick Response Team positioned across the venue. Clear wayfinding, visible help points and trained staff will further ensure a safe and inclusive environment.

The festival will enforce a strict zero-drug-tolerance policy, supported by clear signage, public announcements, intensive frisking procedures and continuous communication. Any individual found with prohibited substances will be handed over to authorities.

Sustainability remains a core pillar of Sunburn’s operations. The festival will reduce single-use plastic, using rice husk and paper cups, implementing waste segregation, and ensuring responsible disposal and upcycling practices.

Sunburn Festival 2025 will also be its most ambitious production yet, featuring one of the largest LED stage screens ever seen in India spanning approximately 15,000 sq. ft. The “Beyond Infinity” monolith stage will deliver a fully immersive visual experience, powered by 1,200 lighting fixtures and 100 sound boxes, redefining electronic music festival production in India.

As Mumbai prepares to host Sunburn Festival 2025, the city reaffirms its position as a global live entertainment destination and India’s entertainment capital. The festival stands as a benchmark for collaboration between promoters, authorities and civic bodies, combining scale with safety, ambition with responsibility, and music with meticulous planning a powerful statement of India’s readiness to host world-class live experiences at unprecedented scale.
