Gandhinagar, Aug 17: Gujarat is stepping up its efforts to build a workforce ready for the rapidly changing digital economy, with the state entering into a 10-year partnership with Automation Anywhere to promote artificial intelligence training, skill development and technology awareness.

Under the agreement, around ₹100 crore in financial support will be provided over the next decade for AI-focused training and capacity-building initiatives. The programme will cover students, young professionals, government employees, MSMEs, startups and academic institutions across the state.

The initiative will offer a range of programmes, including AI and machine learning workshops, seminars, webinars, boot camps and certification courses. The focus will be on helping participants understand emerging technologies and develop practical skills that can be applied in education, employment and business.

Automation Anywhere will contribute trainers, industry experts and mentors, along with training materials, curricula and certification support. Participants will also have opportunities for practical learning, helping them move beyond theoretical knowledge and gain experience with AI and automation technologies.

The partnership comes at a time when artificial intelligence is rapidly changing workplaces across industries. Companies are increasingly adopting automation and digital tools, creating a growing need for employees who can understand these technologies and use them effectively.

For students and young professionals, access to AI training could open the door to new career opportunities. MSMEs and startups could also benefit from a larger pool of digitally skilled workers, making it easier to adopt new technologies and improve efficiency.

The initiative is also expected to strengthen cooperation between government, industry and educational institutions. Closer collaboration can help ensure that training programmes remain relevant to changing industry requirements and give learners skills that are useful in the real world.

Gujarat’s focus on AI skills comes amid growing attention to technology-led employment and education across India. As AI becomes part of everyday business and professional life, developing a workforce that can work alongside emerging technologies is becoming increasingly important.

For many learners, the biggest benefit could be the opportunity to gain confidence with technologies that may shape their future careers. For businesses, the programme could help address the shortage of skilled talent needed to adopt AI and automation.

The 10-year partnership marks a long-term effort to make AI skills more accessible across Gujarat. If implemented effectively, it could help students, workers and entrepreneurs adapt to changing workplace demands while creating new opportunities for employment, innovation and technology-driven growth.
