New Delhi, April 22(BNP): A massive women’s protest march was organized in the state capital Lucknow against the rejection of the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, thousands of women marched on foot from the Chief Minister’s residence (5 Kalidas Marg) to the Vidhan Sabha, expressing their concerns regarding the developments related to the bill.
Several women ministers and leaders of the state government participated in the march and addressed the gathering. Speakers highlighted the significance of the bill for strengthening women’s representation in governance and emphasized the importance of women’s participation at all levels from panchayats to Parliament.
Education Minister Gulab Devi urged women to remain aware and united, emphasizing that women across the country have expressed strong sentiments regarding the developments related to the bill.
Women Welfare Minister Baby Rani Maurya emphasized the importance of safeguarding women’s dignity and representation in legislative bodies and called upon women to continue efforts toward strengthening women’s empowerment.
Former Member of Parliament Rita Bahuguna Joshi highlighted that the bill represents a significant step toward women’s empowerment and urged women to collectively support initiatives that promote equal opportunities and leadership roles. Several senior leaders, ministers, public representatives, and women participants from various districts took part in the march.
