New Delhi: More than 4 crore Income Tax Returns (ITRs) have been filed for Assessment Year 2026-27 so far, reflecting strong participation from taxpayers during the ongoing filing period, the Income Tax Department said.
The department highlighted the increasing adoption of online filing facilities and encouraged taxpayers who are yet to submit their returns to complete the process within the stipulated deadline.
To make tax compliance easier, the Income Tax Department has introduced various digital services and taxpayer support measures aimed at providing a smoother and more convenient filing experience.
Taxpayers have also been advised to verify their filed returns and use the department’s online platforms for any assistance related to filing, verification, and other tax services.
