New Delhi, Aug 20: State Bank of India (SBI) is set to introduce revised withdrawal charges for customers holding Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) accounts from October 1, 2026.

Under the revised rules, BSBD account holders will continue to get four free cash withdrawals every month. Any withdrawal beyond the four free transactions will attract a charge of ₹15 per transaction, along with applicable GST.

The change is important for customers who regularly rely on cash withdrawals. The revised structure is aimed at bringing greater clarity to how transactions are counted while continuing to provide basic banking facilities to BSBD account holders.

A key change is that the four-transaction limit will also take into account certain digital transactions that were previously excluded from the calculation. This means customers may need to keep track of their monthly transactions more carefully to avoid additional charges.

BSBD accounts are designed to provide essential banking services without the burden of maintaining a minimum balance. SBI currently provides basic facilities including a RuPay ATM-cum-debit card without an annual maintenance charge and several basic banking services at no cost.

The revised charges will come into effect from October 1, 2026, giving customers time to understand the new rules and plan their transactions accordingly.
