Mumbai, 14th November 2024: In a heartwarming display of community solidarity, a fundraising campaign on Impact Guru has successfully raised over ₹20 lakh in just 48 hours to support the urgent medical treatment of four-year-old Ananya Pednekar. The child is currently fighting for her life in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Apollo Hospital, Belapur, following a tragic car accident that claimed her father’s life and left her mother critically injured.
The horrific incident occurred on November 7, 2024, during what was meant to be a joyous celebration of Sneha Pednekar’s 34th birthday. While driving on Palm Beach Road, their Renault Kwid was struck from behind by a speeding Mahindra Thar SUV. The impact was devastating; Ananya’s father, Manish Pednekar (40), tragically lost his life at the scene, while Sneha and Ananya sustained life-threatening injuries. In the wake of this tragedy, Ananya’s maternal aunt, Samata Goud, took the initiative to launch a fundraising campaign on Impact Guru to cover the extensive medical costs required for Ananya’s treatment.
The response to this campaign has been nothing short of extraordinary. Within just two days, 572 compassionate donors came together to contribute over ₹20 lakh, demonstrating the profound impact of community support in times of crisis. In an effort to maximize the impact of donations raised through this campaign, Apollo Hospitals has partnered with Impact Guru by covering all fundraising fees. This ensures that every single rupee donated goes directly toward Ananya’s medical treatment.
Ananya’s medical condition remains critical. She has already undergone major surgery on her mandible (jaw) and faces several more surgeries in the coming weeks. Doctors anticipate that she will require at least a month in the PICU to stabilize her condition and begin her recovery journey. Meanwhile, Sneha is receiving urgent care at Dr. DY Patil Hospital in Nerul, where she underwent surgery for multiple severe injuries sustained during the accident.
With the successful completion of this campaign, Impact Guru celebrates not only the generous contributions but also the power of collective action in times of need. The funds raised will significantly aid Ananya’s ongoing medical expenses and provide much-needed support for her family during this challenging time.
