25th October, 2024, Bengaluru: On the occasion of IIM Bangalore’s 51st Foundation Day, the Institute has invited Dr. Rukmini Banerji, Chief Executive Officer, Pratham Education Foundation, to deliver a Special Lecture on the topic, ‘Opportunities & Challenges for Education in Today’s India’.

Dr. Rukmini will be diving into the primary, secondary and management education system in India and will shed light on the current educational landscape. The Foundation Day lecture will be held on the 28th of October, Thursday and, will be followed by an address from Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIMB.

Dr. Rukmini Banerji

Dr. Rukmini Banerji was trained as an economist at St. Stephen’s College (Delhi) and the Delhi School of Economics. She was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University and completed her PhD at the University of Chicago. She has been with the Pratham Foundation since 1996 and is serving as their CEO from 2015.

During this occasion, IIMB will be honouring various faculty and alumni with awards. The annual Alumni Service Awards (ASA) were instituted to recognize impactful and enduring contributions to the institution from the alumni ecosystem. The award winners for this year are- C P Madhusudan (PGP 1993), Pawan Sachdeva (PGP 1996), and Shashank Kothi (PGP 2000). The Foundation Day celebrations will also see Long Service Awards being presented to faculty and non-teaching IIMB staff.
