Telangana is on the global industrial map as Hyderabad secures ICCA Global Summit 2027

 

Feb 16, Hyderabad … Hyderabad to host the biggest summit on Corrugated Packaging Industry, the ICCA (International Corrugated Case Association) Global Summit 2027 for the first time in India in January 2027.

 A defining moment for Telangana and India, as this milestone reflects Hyderabad’s rising stature as a global industrial hub.

  This will be the first time in ICCA’s 64-year history for this prestigious conference to come to India.

 Hyderabad takes the Global Stage as two industry leaders assumed global leadership positions and brought this prestigious event to Hyderabad.

 In a historic milestone for India’s packaging industry, Hyderabad has been selected to host the ICCA Global Summit 2027, the biennial global forum of the International Corrugated Case Association (ICCA). This will be the first time in ICCA’s 64-year history that the summit is held in India, coinciding with India assuming the ICCA Chair.

 According to reliable sources, a curtain raiser event for the same is planned in Hyderabad, on 18th February 2026.

 Founded in 1961 and headquartered in the USA, ICCA is the global apex body of the corrugated packaging industry, uniting international leaders to shape the future of sustainable and recyclable packaging worldwide.

 Three landmark global industry events will be held in Hyderabad. According to reliable sources, Hyderabad will host three major corrugated packaging industry events in January 2027, positioning the city as a global hub for eco-friendly packaging:

 The first is ICCA Global Summit 2027. The biennial global forum of ICCA brings together international industry leaders, policymakers, and technology experts. With a legacy of over six decades, the summit will deliberate on sustainability, automation, innovation, and global collaboration in corrugated packaging.

 The second event is the FCBM CorruPack Summit 2027. The annual flagship conference of the Federation of Corrugated Box Manufacturers of India (FCBM), representing over 3,000 manufacturers with industry sales of over US$8.90 billion. Hosted by ACCT, this summit has evolved into India’s most influential corrugated packaging platform, fostering policy dialogue, innovation, and industry collaboration.

The third event will be CorruPack International Expo 2027. A world-class exhibition showcasing cutting-edge machinery & technology, sustainable materials, and next-generation packaging solutions. The expo is expected to feature 250+ global exhibitors, 1,500+ delegates, and 300+ international industry leaders, serving as a vibrant B2B marketplace for technology transfer and investment.

 In another unprecedented development, two industry leaders from Hyderabad have been appointed to the top leadership of ICCA, marking the first such occurrence in the association’s history.

 ML Agarwal, Chairman of Central India Packaging and a veteran industry leader, has been elected Chairman of the ICCA Board of Directors. He is the first Indian to hold this prestigious position in ICCA’s 64-year history—bringing significant recognition to Telangana and India.

 Ankit Agarwal, Managing Director of Central India Packaging, has been appointed India Director on the ICCA Board. He also serves as President-Elect of FCBM.

 Their collective efforts have been instrumental in securing Hyderabad as the host city for the Global Summit of the Corrugated Box Industry in January 2027.

 Eleni Despotou, Chief Executive Officer of ICCA, is expected to visit Hyderabad this February third week in connection with the summit and associated events, further underscoring the global significance of this occasion.

 India’s corrugated packaging industry, valued at approximately ₹55,000 crore, is among the fastest-growing in the world. Platforms such as CORRUPACK have consistently advanced innovation, sustainability, and policy advocacy—positioning India as a strategic hub in the global packaging ecosystem.

The global corrugated box packaging market, valued at USD 170.96 billion in 2024, is projected to reach USD 179.5 billion in 2025, growing at a CAGR of 5.1% through 2030. India is expected to be a key growth driver, with the domestic market projected to expand from USD 7.8 billion to USD 18.6 billion by 2033, at a CAGR of 9.6%, fueled by e-commerce, FMCG, food, pharmaceuticals, and organised retail.

These milestones reflect Hyderabad’s rising stature as a global industrial hub and its growing influence in the sustainable packaging landscape. Hosting the ICCA Global Summit 2027 places Telangana and India firmly on the global map of eco-friendly industrial innovation.
