Nov 29, 2023, New Delhi: The Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA), the apex association of the Indian electrical equipment manufacturing industry today inaugurated the 12th edition of Trafotech Global Conference themed “Transformers for Sustainable Future” in New Delhi.
Speaking at the conference, Chief Guest, Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairman, CEA highlighted the rapid pace of growth being witnessed by the power sector and said, “We are currently growing at 6% and this is projected to get revised to 9%. This presents a tremendous opportunity for the equipment manufacturing industry to grow, achieving this will in turn need a robust supply chain network”. Mr Prasad laid emphasis on maintaining the quality of supply and said that is one of the key challenges that the industry is facing right now.
Mr Vikram Gandotra, Vice president, IEEMA spoke about Vision 2047 for the Power sector that aims to achieve 1 Trillion USD by 2047. Mr Gandotra highlighted the role of “Make in India” and its relevance for the industry. He highlighted the need for targeted PLI schemes and government support towards skill development. “India’s power sector is in an enviable position and is in a sweet spot”. Neera Goyal, Chairman, Trafotech Global said “Sustainable transformer technology will shape the future of the power sector”.
